Watching the mosaic artists at work inspired me to get back to the art form whose sparkle has always left me starry-eyed. I returned with my passion pot overflowing and a beautiful little reminder of that feeling that I can wear around my neck every day. It feels beautiful, like I’m carrying my dreams in my pocket.

The arrival of the warmer weather here in Italy has inspired me to get out and since my last few blog posts, I’ve been doing some exploring! The highlight of my travels was visiting the wonderful city of Ravenna. I love mosaics, and Ravenna is famed for this art form.
Whilst there, I saw the glorious ancient mosaics in the Basilica di San Vitale and the Mausoleo di Galla Placidia. I also visited the Parco della Pace, an open-air gallery of modern mosaics. I wandered, awe-struck, around living mosaic workshops as well as getting lost and in the process stumbling upon several other amazing modern sculptured mosaics. Every piece of work I saw transmitted the love, creativity and joy that it had been made with directly to my spirit.
