When you find those those things that give you joy, you'll recognise them. I'm the same as you, but with cats. Anytime I see one a smile appears on my face!

I thought of something that gives me joy! coming home, opening the door, and having my little dog Vinnie greet me with all his enthusiasm. That lights me up no matter what. :)

Thank you Alison for the suggestion to think of things I did as a child. I never thought of doing that...and as I sit and ponder, I realize I didn't have a lot of joy growing up because I had an alcoholic father and lived a lot of my younger years in terror. But I totally get the spirit of what you've said and so I'll continue to think back on my past when I can recall moments of joy and use those to springboard into new things.

This has give me so much to think about. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yes, lentils sprout easily and taste wonderful. Read the second of the three sprouting articles to learn about lentils. You also might want to check out the first article in the series to review the basics. Orzo is barley, but perlato won't sprout. You need to find the whole un-treated grains. I can get them in my local health food store here. I also sprout rye (segale) and oats (avena). I've had some adventures with chickpeas recently and have settled on the decorticata ones - they've had their skins removed. I soak them for a day and then cook them for 6 hours...they go down much better than raw chickpeas for me. Have fun!
